2) Your guestbook will be checked to make sure it is also family friendly, so please keep an eye on it and clear out any spam or posts that are not family safe. Your guestbook must allow HTML/Images.
|
Please note that Tag Boards and message boards are allowed, but they must be properly maintained and stay clear from the improper content and foul language. They must be supervised at all times.
|
3) Absolutely NO stealing of anybody's work (this includes stealing from Fantasy Fights, from our members, or anybody else online). You need to ask written permission from the owner before removing anything from their site. If they do not answer your request then you should assume permission was not given. For more information on copyrights, please visit: http://www.whatiscopyright.org or please visit our Copyrights page which was written up by us as a helpful guideline for you to follow.
4) If you run any type of a voting system, your site will not be approved. Please note that if you are a current fighter here and you are found to be running a website competition, you will be asked to drop out of Fantasy Fights. Staff members of other competitions are allowed to compete here, but if you are found to be making problems with Fantasy Fights, you will be dropped. Our competition cannot be used as a stepping stone to gain members for your competition's benefit or to use our ideas. Also note that VE Clubs will not be approved to join.
5) The Fantasy Fights Proud Member banner is REQUIRED at all times. We ask that you place this banner on the index page or the page immediatly following, but a spirit page or membership page is okay, as long as we can easily find the banner and the page it's located on can be found through a link on your homepage. These banners are not to be altered in any way. If this banner is removed from your site, you will be placed on Hold and contacted. After a short period of time, we will assume that you are no longer interested and your site will be removed. You will then need to signup again if you wish to return.
You should save the banner to your own website. If you are caught linking directly to the image from our server, you will be warned about it and disqualified if the problem is not fixed. You may choose from one of the banners below, or you find more at This Page or on your team's pages.. The banner should be linked back to: http://www.webcompetition.net
We ask that you place the following "Waiting for Approval" banner up on your homepage and link it back to http://www.webcompetition.net as well "Before" you fill out the signup form. This banner is only required when you first signup. After you have been contacted about your signup, you are free to remove it or keep it there.
Vote banners are optional and the choice to use one is left up to you. Each team has several vote banners to choose from or you may pick up a general vote banner below. Be sure and link them back to your team's vote page if you use one!

6) You will be disqualified if we find out you have made accusations against ANY fighter in your emails to your VE lists or you forward another fighter's complaint or accusations to your VE list or any one supporter. You should not accuse a fellow fighter of not voting or cheating or question how true a fighter's scores are without evidence. This is considered bashing and is not allowed at Fantasy Fights. If you have a complaint, take it to the Webmaster or your Team Leader.
7) If you are under 13 years of age, you will be required to have your parent or guardian submit a special form in order for you to join. This is in accordance with the United States COPPA laws. You can find the link to this form by visiting Here or by clicking the link found on the Signup page. Parents/Guardians should review our Privacy Policy to see how personal information entered into the forms are used.
8) Your site should have at least 3 or more pages of content to be accepted here. Sites listed as "Under Construction" with only a single page or two of content will not be approved. None of your content should be direct linked to another person's website. This is bandwidth stealing, and you will be warned once and then disqualified should you be caught.
9) All sites must be in English or have an English mirror to it.
1) Fighters must have a guestbook that allows HTML as well as a link to their email address visible on their site at all times. This is so people wanting to vote exchange will be able to contact you. It will also allow the Fantasy Fights Sprites to visit your page and leave little good luck notes and dustings.
2) When sending out mass mailings for vote exchanges or just to a few friends, you must send them out using BCC (Blind Carbon Copy). This is to hide the emails of the people you are sending your vote reminders to so that nobody else can see them. Not using the BCC field allows other people to see everybody you sent the email too, which is one way for spammers to get ahold of emails and start flooding inboxes. This should also go for sending mass mailings outside of Fantasy Fights as well, to protect your friend's emails.
|
If somebody should send you a reminder and they did not use a BCC field to list the email addresses, then you should not contact anybody who was listed in the email aside for the sender. You should not spam anybody.
|
3) If you would like to vote exchange with another person in competition, you should visit their homepages to get their email address and ask them. By visiting their website, you are not blind voting which is looked down upon in the competition world.
4) On your home team, there must be a minimum of two (2) fighters in Levels 2 and 3 for the team to run. Level 1 (the qualifying level) can run with only 1 fighter. The Enchanted Levels requires at least 2 fighters, and the Inspiring Heights must have at least 3 fighters. With the exception to Level 1, these levels will be on Hold until the required amount of members are present.
5) If a fighter decides to leave Fantasy Fights, they are required to contact their Team Leader ASAP so that their leader can reflect their departure by removing their details from the team's pages, roster and their email lists. If a fighter has dropped out from the competition but wishes to return to Fantasy Fights, they must signup once again and will have to start all over again from Level 1 on their team.
6) LOA (leave of absence) is allowed at Fantasy Fights. If a fighter requires an LOA, they must contact their Team Leader ASAP before voting has commenced as LOA may not be taken once voting has started for the week. If you wish to go on LOA in the Enchanted Levels, you must let your team leader know by 5pm on Sundays so that updates to the levels can be made in time. If any LOA request comes in after voting has started, it cannot be honored except under special circumstances.
You are allowed up to 2 weeks LOA, however if more time is required, you will need to discuss the matter with your Team Leader and it will be up to their discretion. If a lengthy LOA is required, then you may need to return back to Level 1 on your team to recommence once you have returned from your lengthy LOA.
Please note that LOAs are not allowed in the Inspiring Heights level or the Tournament of Dreams. If an LOA must be taken, you need to contact your Team Leader or the Webmaster and your site will be dropped back down to the Enchanted levels and your LOA taken there.
|
7) If at any time you wish to switch teams, notify your team leader or the Webmaster with your new choice before the start of a new vote week and we will get your site moved to your new team.
8) When a fighter wins the Inspiring Heights for 3 weeks in a row, they are able to return to Fantasy Fights again in 30 days if they wish. This will allow other fighters a chance to win here at Fantasy Fights. They are welcome to return for the main tournament in December with the other Inspiring Heights Champions for that year, or you can fill out the Help Wanted form and still be apart of the Fantasy Fights.
9) You need to vote for yourself several times during the week and stay active. If your site receives no votes for 2 weeks in a row, you will be placed on Hold and contacted.
10) A member is welcome to signup more than 1 site with Fantasy Fights if they wish, and they are welcome to have multiple sites on the same team if they choose. Members are also welcome to join other competitions, as long as you remain active at ours.
11) If a member is on multiple teams at Fantasy Fights and they change their email, request an LOA, wish to be dropped from competition, etc, then the member needs to contact each of their team leaders. They should not contact just one and ask that it be passed along to everybody else for them.
1) Voting at Fantasy Fights takes place from Monday - Thursday, 12:00am - 10pm Eastern Standard Time. Voters should only vote once per person, but may vote for as many people that they like. Votes are counted manually at Fantasy Fights, not by a script. All votes get counted with only a few exceptions (multiple votes made by the same person for a single member are counted as 1 vote, for example). If you have any questions regarding your vote scores, feel free to contact your team leaders, but note that they are not allowed to tell you who is voting for you.
2) In the Qualifying Rounds (Level 1) of each team, at least 2 votes per day are required to qualify for the day. If a member has only 1 vote but they cheer, then their extra cheer point will count as their 2nd vote for the day, and they will qualify.
3) Ballot stuffing is not allowed at Fantasy Fights. You and your VE partners should vote 1 time per member, per day. If you attempt to vote multiple times for the same person in a single day, your votes will only be counted as 1 point. If we see one of our members doing this constantly, they will be contacted about the issue. Note that attempting to ballot stuff by using multiple IP addresses is also against the rules and we can catch people when it is attempted.
4) Unlike a lot of other competitions, we show your actual score, so 1 vote equals 1 vote point.
If you get 10 votes, your score for that day would total 10. In the team levels, votes are counted
by email address. In the upper levels, votes are counted by IP address.
If you have any questions regarding the rules, feel free to contact us!
These rules were updated August 2008.
